The Agapanthus

A unique collection in Europe for extension and importance which counts today over 400 different varieties. Hailing from southern Africa, Agapanthus were introduced at Villa della Pergola at the end of 18th century by the first English owners.
With the rescue of the 22.000 m2 park and the restoration of the selfsame by the hands of landscape architect Paolo Pejrone, it was created an extended collection with new species, in the mindset of preserving the botanical characteristic typical of our Anglo Mediterranean garden.

From June our gardens paint itself with different shades of blue, light blue and white thanks to the blossoming of this collection, in which the flowers arrange themselves creating brush stokes rich in color, similar to the waves of our sea.
