A unique collection in Europe for extension and importance which counts today nearly 500 different varieties. Hailing from southern Africa, Agapanthus were introduced at Villa della Pergola at the end of 18th century by the first English owners.
With the rescue of the 22.000 sq.m. of the Park and its restoration by the hands of landscape architect Paolo Pejrone, it was created an extended brand new collection, in the mindset of preserving the botanical characteristic typical of our Anglo- Mediterranean garden.
From June to July our Gardens paint itself with different shades of blue, light blue and white, thanks to the blossoming of this collection: here the flowers arrange themselves creating brush stokes rich in colour, reminding of the waves of our sea.
