After a long break due to the Covid emergency, the Gardens of Villa della Pergola finally reopen to the public.
Visitors will be able to admire the spectacle of the flowering of the Agapanti in the Gardens of Villa della Pergola: a unique collection in Europe for its vastness and importance, which today has over 450 different varieties, a collection certified and registered by SOI, the Italian Horticultural Society.
Thanks to the flowering of this collection, prepared to form brushstrokes rich in color similar to the waves of the sea of the Ligurian Riviera, the Gardens in this period are tinged with different shades of blue, light blue and white.
Originating from southern Africa, the first Agapanthus were introduced to Villa della Pergola at the end of the 19th century by the first English owners.
And it is in this natural fresco that you can walk among the evergreen Mediterranean and exotic flora - a distinctive feature of the Park - with maritime pines, carob trees, olive trees, almond trees, cypresses, cedars of Lebanon, holm oaks and a surprising collection of skilfully planted citrus fruits. close to jacarandas, araucarias, giant strelitias, diksonias, palms, cacti from all latitudes.
The latest acquisition of the Gardens can also be admired on guided tours: the magical grove of the Myrtles. Secular plants, planted in the last month.
On the occasion of the flowering of the Agapanti, guided tours, by reservation, are held every day except Monday, starting at 9.30 - 11.30 - 15.00 - 17.00.
On 19 June the Relais also reopens and therefore the opportunity to stay at Villa della Pergola: 15 suites immersed in the Gardens, in a unique place where nature, history and charm come together to give guests a unique experience.
And the Nove restaurant is also back.
The panoramic terrace and the garden will allow guests to enjoy lunches and dinners immersed in the beauty of Villa della Pergola.
Chef Giorgio Servetto and his staff worked on a summer menu that draws on the rich basket of products of the Ligurian territory: a journey between the sea and the countryside, dotted with herbs, citrus fruits and vegetables from the Villa della Pergola gardens and the vegetable garden.
